Die sechste und vorletzte Runde in der hart umkämpften Blancpain Sprint Series fand am Wochenende im belgischen Zolder statt. Mehr als XXXXX Zuschauer ließen sich dieses Spektakel bei spätsommerlichen Temperaturen nicht entgehen.

 

Mit Meisterschaftsambitionen ist das Grasser Racing Team aus Österreich mit zwei Reiter Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 angereist. Den Gallardo mit der Startnummer #27 teilten sich Stefan Landmann (AUT) und Tomas Pivoda (CZE). Hari Proczyk (AUT) und Jeroen Bleekemolen (NLD) sind im zweiten Gallardo (#28) unterwegs und befinden sich im Kampf um die Meisterschaft.

Das freie Training verlief für beide Fahrzeuge gut und das Team optimierte die Setups für die Strecke in Zolder.

 

Im Zeittraining am Samstag setzten sich Proczyk und Bleekemolen auf P2 in die erste Startreihe für das Qualifying-Rennen am gleichen Tag. Pivoda und Landmann teilten sich an diesem Wochenende das erste Mal ein Cockpit und nahmen auch das erste Mal an der Cup-Trophy teil. Landmann holte in Q1 noch einen sehr guten P5 und qualifizierte sich damit für Q2. Dennoch konnten sie sich danach im schnellen Q2 nur noch für P21 qualifizieren.

 

Das Qualifying-Rennen fand unter besten Wetterbedingungen statt. Jeroen Bleekemolen ging beim Start kein unnötiges Risiko ein und gab einen Platz ab. Er konnte sich im weiteren Verlauf des Rennens in der starken Spitzengruppe behaupten und brachte den Gallardo zum obligatorischen Fahrerwechsel in die Box. Nach einem fehlerfreien Stopp ging Proczyk mit dem Gallardo auf die Strecke und verteidigte seine Position vor Enzo Ide im Audi, der ihn im letzten Drittel stark unter Druck setzte. Der Österreicher holte mit P3 einen Podiumsplatz und vier wichtige Meisterschaftspunkte.

 

Im Schwesterfahrzeug hatte Pivoda einen guten Start, blieb jedoch im Verkehr stecken und konnte bis zum Fahrerwechsel keine Position gewinnen. Landmann übernahm das Fahrzeug, machte sofort Druck und kämpfte sich im Laufe seines Stints fünf Positionen nach vorne. Der Spurt nach vorne wurde am Ende des Laufes zwar mit P14 belohnt, aber ein unsanfter Ausflug über die Streckenbegrenzungen hatte einige Schäden zur Folge, die bis zum Sonntagsrennen nicht wieder instandgesetzt werden konnten. Das Rennwochenende war somit für die beiden Piloten des Lamborghini mit der Startnummer #27 zu Ende.

 

Hari Proczyk startete ins Hauptrennen am Sonntag und konnte gleich eine Position gutmachen. Während seines gesamten Stints konnte er P2 gut halten und übergab diese Platzierung bei perfekten Boxenstopp an Jeroen Bleekemolen. Der Niederländer reihte sich auf P2 hinter dem Meisterschaftskonkurrenten Maximilian Götz im Mercedes-Benz ein, konnte diesen aber bis zum Rennende nicht mehr einholen.

 

Vor dem Finale in Baku (AZE) liegen Hari Proczyk und Jeroen Bleekemolen nun auf P3 mit 27 Punkten Abstand zum Zweitplatzierten.

 

Hari Proczyk (AUT): „Das Wochenende war eigentlich gut, P3 im Qualifying-Rennen, P2 heute im Hauptrennen. Normalerweise war es wieder nahezu perfekt aber es hat keiner damit gerechnet, dass HTP-Motorsport es auf wieder den Punkt gebracht haben, man muss den Jungs dort einfach nur gratulieren – Respekt!  Es wird jetzt in der Meisterschaft sehr sehr schwer werden. Wir können entspannt nach Baku fahren und werden dort aber unser Bestes geben und versuchen zu gewinnen.“

 

Jeroen Bleekemolen (NLD): „Platz 2 und 3 waren gar nicht schlecht, wir hatten also wieder ein gutes Wochenende mit zwei Podiumsplätzen. Nur sieht es jetzt für uns in der Meisterschaft schlechter aus, so dass wir eigentlich nicht zufrieden sein können. Die anderen Jungs (Buhk und Götz, HTP Motorsport) haben ihren Job gut gemacht. Wir werden in Baku dennoch versuchen zu gewinnen und immer kämpfen, das wird dort sehr schwer werden aber man weiß nie, was dabei herauskommt.“

 

Teamchef Gottfried Grasser: „Im Training hatten wir noch etwas mit dem Setup zu tun, um den richtigen Speed zu finden. Mit großer Unterstützung von Hari (Proczyk) und Jeroen (Bleekemolen) haben wir vor dem Zeittraining noch ein komplettes Setup-Change durchgeführt, was sich dann auch mit P2 ausgezahlt hat. Jeroen hatte einen Top-Start beim Qualifying-Rennen, wäre fast auf P1 vorgekommen, musste dann aber zurückstecken. P3 am Ende war dann ein Super-Ergebnis. Stefan (Landmann) und Tomas (Pivoda) haben sich toll nach vorne gearbeitet, von P22 auf P15 ist eine gute Leistung. Am Ende wurden sie auf P14 gewertet, aber leider ist Stefan das Auto kaputtgegangen, als er über eine Streckenbegrenzung gefahren ist. So konnten wir das Auto am Sonntag nicht einsetzen, aber das Team hat das Auto für den Einsatz in Baku schon fast wieder repariert.
Beim Hauptrennen hatte Hari einen Wahnisnns-Start aber zwei Safety-Car-Phasen, eine davon kurz vor dem Boxenstopp und eine nicht korrekt arbeitende Luftlanze haben uns vielleicht P1 gekostet. Aber P2 ist Spitze und wir müssen zugeben, dass die Jungs von HTP-Motorsport eine Weltklasse-Leistung abgegeben haben.
Beim Finale in Baku werden wir dennoch alles geben um zu gewinnen. Es gibt tolle Preisgelder und es besteht zumindest noch eine theoretische Chance auf den Gewinn der Meisterschaft.“

 

 

Aiming for the championship title, the Grasser Racing Team from Austria entered two Reiter Lamborghini Gallardo FL2. Stefan Landmann (AUT) and Tomas Pivoda (CZE) shared the Gallardo #27. Hari Proczyk (AUT) and Jeroen Bleekemolen (NLD) at the wheel of the second Gallardo (#28) still have a chance to claim the championship title.

 

The free practice session went well for both pairings, and the team found a perfect set-up for the track in Zolder.

 

In the qualifying session on Saturday, Proczyk and Bleekemolen took P2 in the first row for the qualifying race later that day. Pivoda and Landmann shared a car for the first time at the weekend. They also made their debut in the Cup Trophy. Landmann took a fantastic P5 in Q1, which qualified them for Q2. Still, they only managed to take P21 in the fast Q2.

 

The qualifying race took place in perfect weather conditions. Not taking unnecessary risks at the start, Jeroen Bleekemolen dropped a place. He defended his position in the strong top group throughout his stint and subsequently pitted for the mandatory driver change. After a stop without mistakes, Proczyk at the wheel of the Gallardo rejoined the race. He defended his position ahead of Enzo Ide in the Audi, who put him under tremendous pressure in the last third of the race. Taking third, the Austrian scored a podium finish and four crucial championship points.

 

Pivoda in the sister car made a good start but subsequently got stuck in the traffic. He did not gain any positions until the driver change. Landmann took over the car. Pushing hard right away he moved up five places throughout his stint. He carved his way through the field and claimed P14 as a result of his efforts. At the same time, the car was damaged when he ran across the track limits. It was not possible to repair the car in time for the race on Sunday. As a result, the racing weekend was over for the two drivers in the Lamborghini #27.

 

Hari Proczyk started into the main race on Sunday, gaining a place right after the start. He successfully defended P2 throughout his stint and handed the car over to Jeroen Bleekemolen in a perfect pit stop. The Dutchman rejoined the race in P2 behind their competitor in the fight for the title, Maximilian Götz at the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz. He could not catch up to him until the end of the race.

 

Hari Proczyk and Jeroen Bleekemolen are in P3 ahead of the finale in Baku (AZE), 27 points behind the second-placed driver.

 

Hari Proczyk (AUT): “The weekend went pretty well, P3 in the qualifying race and P2 in the main race today. Actually, it was almost perfect, but nobody expected the guys from HTP Motorsport to deliver like that. Really impressive. Kudos to them! The fight for the title will be really tough now. We can be relaxed and will do our best in Baku in order to win.”

 

Jeroen Bleekemolen (NLD): “Second and third are not too bad. We had a pretty good weekend considering our two podium finishes. However, our position in the fight for the title is worse now. Therefore we cannot be satisfied. The other guys (Buhk and Götz, HTP Motorsport) did a great job. We will try to win in Baku and continue to fight. It will be really challenging, but you never know what will happen.”

 

Team Principal Gottfried Grasser: “We struggled a little with the set-up in the free practice in order to find a good pace. Hari (Proczyk) and Jeroen (Bleekemolen) were a big support when we changed the set-up completely ahead of the qualifying session. We took P2, so it paid off. Jeroen made a fantastic start in the qualifying race and almost moved up into P1 but was forced to back off. P3 at the end is a phenomenal result. Stefan (Landmann) and Tomas (Pivoda) did a great job moving up from P22 to P15. In the end they claimed P14. Unfortunately, the car was damaged when Stefan drove across the track limits. Therefore, we were unable to enter the car in the race on Sunday. But the team has almost finished the repairs for the race in Baku.
Hari made an awesome start in the main race. Perhaps we lost P1 due to two safety car deployments, one just before the pit stop, and an air lance which did not work correctly. However, P2 is fantastic. And we have to admit that the guys from HTP Motorsport put in a phenomenal performance.
We will be doing our utmost again to win in Baku. The prize money is great. And we still have a theoretical chance of claiming the championship title.”
